I find it fascinating, that when all else fails in weather forecasting, we come to “partly cloudy". Which for me is a delightful weather term especially while living in Montana. It is neither a clear day with expansive blue skies or a totally grey overcast day with low light. “Partly cloudy” are days where the sun dances around and through clouds as well upon the land.
Each moment on a "Partly Cloudy" day can lead to big changes in the way I see light and color as it plays on the clouds and land. The possibility of seeing dynamic shadows floating along the foothills, mountains and valley gives rise to my efforts to capture the beauty I see and love. It is the ultimate opportunity to view an incredible color play of intense hues throughout the day, especially at sunrise and sunset.
I love clouds especially “Partly Cloudy" clouds! The big floaters are my favorites! These big, fleeting meditative clouds draw my attention to the subtleness of color and light. This, of course, changes as I view their endless movement while they gently or sometimes dramatically move across the landscape.
